On October 1, our co-founder Elie Al Chaer joined AI Adoption in Construction, Contech Alliance's summit in Chelsea, New York. The day brought together more than 300 contractors, owners, designers, founders and public-sector leaders, all focused on one question: how AI is actually being used across the built environment today, beyond the demos.
Elie took a seat at the Contractors Roundtable alongside teams from Skanska, Gilbane, DPR Construction, Consigli, Yates Construction, AECOM Hunt, Lipsky Construction and others. Roundtables like this are where contractors compare notes on real use cases in preconstruction and project delivery, and on what still gets in the way.
The rest of the agenda ran from contractor AI show-and-tell sessions and owner and designer roundtables to panels on where to invest time and resources, trusting the output of AI, and construction risk in a data-driven era.
01
The first panel asked how to keep up and where to invest time and resources. Our answer is the same as on every project: map the work first, then fix the step that costs the most.
02
A whole panel was about trusting the output of AI. It is why an expert checks every result we deliver before it reaches a client.
03
Sessions on construction risk and on the pipeline from project data to AI point the same way we do: a model is only as good as the project data behind it.
