On August 27, our co-founder Elie Al Chaer attended the Emergent AI Hackathon in San Francisco, for a closer look at how software engineers and startup founders are using AI to build new tools and applications.
Most of the people in the room came from the startup and technology world, so it was a chance to represent the construction industry while learning how other sectors are already experimenting with these technologies.
One example stood out: a startup from the MENA region had essentially created an AI clone of each employee, then connected those agents so they could coordinate their work. A fascinating look at where things could be heading.
“AI becomes much more valuable when it is built around a specific workflow and a real operational problem.”

The day validated our approach: AI earns its place when it is built around a specific workflow and a real operational problem.
02
Most builders there came from tech. Bringing a contractor's view to that crowd is how the industry ends up with tools that fit the work.

AI clones of each employee, connected to coordinate their work, hint at where operations software could be heading.
